Tow-floats are compulsory if you are swimming at a Love Open Water venue for the first time. We would also advise our beginner swimmers to continue using a tow float until you gain more confidence & strength in the open water.
Whilst a tow-float is not a safety device, it is a buoyancy aid that will provide a swimmer in trouble with stability and reassurance in the water whilst the safety team come to their aid.
Tow floats also allow our lifeguards to see our swimmers more easily. If you are not using a tow float you MUST wear a brightly coloured swimming cap.
A limited amount of tow floats are available to borrow at Love Open Water venues.
