TRAIN FOR TRI

The train for triathlon course is perfect for beginners who are looking to enter their first triathlon event and for those looking to gain additional race specific knowledge.

The courses at Love Open Water venues are run by qualified NOWCA coaches, each with years of experience in training and events.

The session lasts an hour and a half, covering both theory and practical elements.

The first half of the session comprises introduction, risk assessment, equipment, transition, and technical skills.

In the second half you will enter the open water to work on sighting, turning around a buoy, and drafting.

Group ability may vary with the structure of the course adjusted accordingly. As a guide,  you should be able to competently swim 400 metres in the pool.

You will require a wetsuit/triathlon suit for the swim; a bike, helmet, appropriate clothing, and shoes in which you can both cycle and run a short distance. Ideally try to bring equipment you would use in race conditions to replicate an event as best as possible but please have in mind both the water and air temperature on the day of the course.

Wetsuit hire is available on site for £10 per session

If you want a more focused session or a tailored programme a 1-2-1 session might be more suitable for you. Please contact  londoncoaching@loveopenwater.co.uk for more information

Not only is the venue outstanding at the Royal Docks the feeling of inclusion by all the staff is a huge factor in my own personal enjoyment of outdoor swimming. The fun aspect is also a big factor in why I continue to return not to mention the feeling of being safe in the water.- Nick Stagg - London
