What Swim loops are set up?
There is a 250m and 450m loop available for your open water swimming training (or more leisurely bobbing)
There are also a number of trails around the lake offering different distances if you fancy a run / walk before or after your swim.
Note: For safety reasons, courses may change from time to time but swimmers will be briefed prior to entering the water

Water quality is an important part of keeping our swimmers safe and water testing is performed regularly at Love Open Water venues.
How does the temperature vary at the venue?
Deep sites such as our London Royal Docks venues take longer to warm up and cool down so the temperature variations are quite steady and rarely change too significantly week on week. In the winter it can be as cold as 3 degrees and in the height of summer, up to 24 degrees (a typical leisure centre pool can range between 22 and 26 degrees). Lakes such as Willen, Nottingham and The Haven tend to float around 20 degrees in the summer and 5 degrees in the winter. Please check the venue home page for the latest temperature
