The forecast predicts thunderstorms, will the session still run?

If there are reports that we may experience a thunderstorm we will actively check the weather on that day. We will aim to minimise disruption as much as possible to the whole session. If there is a thunderstorm overhead (10 seconds and under from the lightening to the thunder clap) we will ask all swimmers to exit the water immediately and wait for it to pass.

We will wait until we haven’t heard thunder for 20min and then re-enter the water. You will be given as much time as you need to finish your swim unless it is coming to the end of the session . The Venue/Duty Manger will apply a credit to the swimmers who travelled to the venue and have missed out on their swim or where the swim has been cut short.

If an event is being held during normal session times, the above procedure will be followed and the start may be delayed.  If the event cannot be held during the session, swimmers will receive a refund.
